Isabelle Wong, first place winner of the 2010 ASO Youth Concerto Competition, makes a triumphant ASO return with Jean Sibelius’ haunting Violin Concerto in D minor. The perennial favorite Symphony #2 Op. 73 by Johannes Brahms will complete this exciting beginning to the ASO’s 34th season.

Sergei Prokofiev’s magical score comes to life in a new retelling of the story of the boy named Peter and his animal friends. This free afternoon concert also features another delightful collaboration with the Audience of One Youth Theatre.

Spring Masterworks Concert – Spring Masterworks Concert

Antonin Dvorak

The ASO begins a new annual concert series featuring lesser-known great work of master composers. This season the ASO is proud to feature pieces by the great Czech composer Antonin Dvorak. This concert features the enchanting tone poem The Wood Dove Op. 110, Ten Biblical Songs Op,99, and his intense Symphony #7 in D minor Op 70.

Charles IvesArts for a Better Tomorrow – American Originals III

Charles Ives’ surprisingly-romantic Symphony #1 was written while he was a student at Yale University. Full of good cheer and youthful exuberance, this symphony completes the season. This concert also features winners of the ASO’s 10th annual Youth Concerto Competition.
