Join the ASO for dinner and help us go out on a “high note”! This is the final fundraiser of our fiscal year and we need your help to make it a financial success. Just come to dinner at the Aurora Outback restaurant (2066 S. Abilene St.) and 10% of your bill goes directly to the ASO.

This is an easy way to support the orchestra. Enjoy a delicious meal and let someone else do the dishes!

Music Director Search Update

The search for the new ASO music director has taken the next step. After sorting through all of the applicants, the Search Committee selected semi-finalist candidates in November, 2011. After careful consideration, in January 2012 the committee selected the final 5 candidates who will return next season. These candidates will each conduct a concert with the ASO during the 2012 – 2013 concert season:

The small groups of the Aurora Symphony Orchestra are showcased in this intimate evening of chamber music. The Woodwind Quintet, the String Quartet, and the Brass Quintet bring their fun format to you at the always-welcoming Heather Gardens.

Tickets for this special event are only $7 in advance ($9 at the door) and are available only through Heather Gardens. Call 720-974-6931 for tickets!

Youth Concerto Competition

Announcing the 10th Annual
Youth Concerto Competition

sponsored by the Aurora Symphony Orchestra

Be a part of the 2012 competition!

Senior Division is open to competitors aged 12 – 21.
Junior Division is open to competitors aged 12 – 18 that are residents of Aurora, Colorado.
The 1st place winners of the both the senior and the junior divisions will be invited to perform with the ASO at the Arts For a Better Tomorrow concert on May 19, 2012.

First prize in the Senior Division is awarded $1,000.00.
First prize in the Junior Division is awarded $500.00.
Second and Third prizes and amounts awarded at adjudicators’ discretion.

Download the 2012 Concerto Application. Deadline for applications is December 31, 2011 and the competition will be held in mid-January, 2012 at Onofrio Piano.

Sorry, but piano soloists are encouraged to apply next year.

Last year’s winners were Fan-Ya Lin (piano, Senior Division) and Nathanael Leavitt (violin, Junior Division). Read all about the 2011 winners here.
