The small groups of the Aurora Symphony Orchestra are showcased in this intimate evening of chamber music. The Woodwind Quintet, the String Quartet, and the Brass Quintet bring their fun format to you at the always-welcoming Heather Gardens.

Charles Ives’ surprisingly-romantic Symphony #1 was written while he was a student at Yale University. Full of good cheer and youthful exuberance, this symphony completes the season. This concert also features winners of the ASO’s 10th annual Youth Concerto Competition. Senior division winner Natalie Hodges performs the Saint-Saens Violin Concerto #3 in B minor and Junior Division winner Stephanie Yu performs Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen.

Join the ASO and John Denver tribute artist John Adams as they collaborate on a truly inspirational holiday celebration for the entire family. Featuring traditional holiday music plus John Denver-inspired holiday favorites.

Originally born in Holland, John Adams became an avid John Denver fan since 1972′s Take Me Home, Country Roads and dedicated his musical career to honoring Denver’s music. In 1988 John Adams even won a national song contest in Holland with John Denver’s song, Leaving On A Jet Plane. After John Denver’s passing in 1997, John Adams moved to the United States and has committed himself to keeping Denver’s music alive and will continue John’s musical legacy as long as he is able to sing and perform it.

Fall Masterworks Concert

Isabelle Wong, first place winner of the 2010 ASO Youth Concerto Competition, makes a triumphant ASO return with Jean Sibelius’ haunting Violin Concerto in D minor. The perennial favorite Symphony #2 Op. 73 by Johannes Brahms will complete this exciting beginning to the ASO’s 34^th season.

Children’s Concert – Peter and the Wolf

Sergei Prokofiev’s magical score comes to life in a new retelling of the story of the boy named Peter and his animal friends. This free afternoon concert also features another delightful collaboration with the Audience of One Youth Theatre.

Spring Masterworks Concert – Spring Masterworks Concert

The ASO begins a new annual concert series featuring lesser-known great works of master composers. This season the ASO is proud to feature pieces by the great Czech composer Antonin Dvorak. This concert features the enchanting tone poem The Wood Dove Op. 110, Ten Biblical Songs Op,99, and his intense Symphony #7 in D minor Op 70.
