In collaboration with the Audience of One youth theatre company, the ASO presents Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. The all-kids cast of Ao1 brings Peter and the animals to life.

Bring the kids onstage after the performance and have them try their hand at some of the orchestral instruments. This is a great way to introduce children to instrumental music, and a great way to enjoy it yourself! The musicians of the ASO stay onstage and are happy to answer questions about playing their instrument and getting a young musician started.

Featuring traditional holiday music plus John Denver-inspired holiday favorites.

Originally born in Holland, John Adams became an avid John Denver fan since 1972′s Take Me Home, Country Roads and dedicated his musical career to honoring Denver’s music. In 1988 John Adams even won a national song contest in Holland with John Denver’s song, Leaving On A Jet Plane. After John Denver’s passing in 1997, John Adams moved to the United States and has committed himself to keeping Denver’s music alive and will continue John’s musical legacy as long as he is able to sing and perform it.

Fall Masterworks Concertcello

Isabelle Wong, first place winner of the 2010 ASO Youth Concerto Competition, makes a triumphant ASO return with Jean Sibelius’ haunting Violin Concerto in D minor. The perennial favorite Symphony #2 Op. 73 by Johannes Brahms will complete this exciting beginning to the ASO’s 34th season.
